This Autumn sees the release of the latest James Bond movie 'Skyfall', the 23rd instalment from the blisteringly smooth secret agent, currently played by Daniel Craig. With the Bond franchise reaching its 50th year, our enthrallment with his perfectly cut suit, gadget-laden fast cars and irresistible chat up lines shows no sign of waning; even the Queen couldn't resist playing the Bond girl as she dropped in for the Olympic opening ceremony in the summer.
As well as that notorious weakness for a Martini, Mr. Bond has a long-running connection with the Champagne house Bollinger, which has featured in a great number of the movies over the years as 007's seduction weapon of choice. If the world's smoothest secret agent wasn't busy saving civilisation from chemical and biological warfare, scuppering the machinations of international terrorism networks and seducing beautiful women, he would probably be studying for his MW exams, being as he is able to identify Bollinger '75 (A View to a Kill, 1985), Bollinger R.D '79 (License to Kill 1989) and having the audacity to order Bollinger 1961 in Die Another Day, 2002.
You can be part of this great story, with Bollinger's special, limited edition release of 002 for 007. A bottle of Grand Année from the outstanding 2002 Vintage has been given the 'Q Branch' treatment, presented in a gun silencer-shaped gift box (which opens with the code '007', of course). The branding makes it a collectors item.
