Rueda

Rueda is in the Castilla Y Leon autonomous region, south of the Douro river. The climate is continental but a cooling influence from the Atlantic keeps temperatures down, aiding the production of white wines which have grown significantly in quality in recent years. Verdejo is the traditional grape of the region, producing fresh, crisp and dry whites with good aromatics, which are preserved by harvesting at night and fermenting at low tempertaures in stainless steel. Viura is also used, as is Sauvignon Blanc.
