Jerez
The town of Jerez is the home of sherry. The white, chalky hills (the soil is known as albariza) are planted with the Palomino Fino grape, which is made into Fino (or Manzanilla is the town of Sanlucar de Barrameda), Amontillado or Oloroso in the solera systems of the various bodegas. A second variety, Pedro Ximenez is used to make the delicious sweet wine of the same name.
