Rias Baixas

In the far north-west of Spain, on the border with Portugal is Rias Baixas, a damp region characterised by its maritime climate. However the Albarino grape (which becomes Alvarinho over the border in Portugal where it is used to make Vinho Verde) produces excellent wines here, with a pronounced minerality, peachy flavours and high acidity. These wines are excellent with all seafood.
