Roelf du Preez became disillusioned with delivering his pristine organic grapes to the local Rooiberg Co-Op in 2001 and decided to erect his own cellar in time for the 2002 harvest. At the same time, a massive amount of restructuring in the vineyards also began, with Roelf grubbing up 30ha of uneconomic Colombard, Clairette and Chenin in order to concentrate on red varieties.
