Chateau Léoube - An Organic Wine Project by Daylesford Farm

The organic wines of Chateau Léoube are a welcome edition to our catalogue this summer.

Château Léoube occupies an idyllic, sheltered coastal location at Cape Bénat on the Côte d'Azur. Bathed in sunshine for most of the year and cooled by sea breezes at night, this is a land of Mediterranean pine trees, cork oaks, olive groves, rosemary, white heather, sage, myrtle and lavender. The soils are a mix of schist, clay and colluvium; perfect for storing moisture in this dry region.

Chateau Leoube on the Cote d'Avur

Léoube is owned by the family behind Daylesford Organic Farm in Gloucestershire, a business which reflects a wider philosophy of care and respect for the land, applied here to the growing of grapes.

Vines at Chateau Leoube

The enthusiastic vineyard manager at the estate is working to increase biodiversity and sustainability in all aspects of production.

The Chateau itself is spectacular

Léoube wines enjoy organic status as certified by Ecocert, an independent company providing high standards of inspection and creditation.

"Gently nurtured, mineral rich soil and traditional growing methods ensure the vineyard produces healthy succulent fruit; harvested by hand so only the best are selected." Daylesford Organic Farm

Blanc de Leoube

Léoube’s white is a blend of Semillon and Rolle (Vermentino). Pale yellow, with complex aromas of minerals, white fruit and floral hints. Round and fresh.

Rose de Leoube

A blend of Grenache (40%), Cinsault (40%), Syrah (10%) and Mourvedre (10%). Clear and delicate, the nose combines exotic fruit with a touch of spice. Supple and elegant on the palate. - See more at: https://www.ewwines.co.uk/organic-rose-chateau-leoube-provence-daylesford-organics.html#sthash.V6rCQel7.dpuf

Secret de Leoube

A blend of Grenache (40%), Cinsault (40%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). This is bright and vibrant, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the nose. On the palate this is vibrant and flavoursome, with excellent length.

Rouge de Leoube

Léoube’s Rouge is a blend of Syrah (60%), Grenache (20%) and Cinsault (20%). The colour reflects concentrated fruits, which on the palate show as ripe and full, with rounded, silky tannins.
