Dinner with Champagne Tarlant

Posted on 13th November 2012 by ewwwebdev There have been 0 comments

The Scarlet, Cornwall's glamorous eco-hotel, will be holding a special dinner this November to celebrate the visit of Benoit Tarlant of Champagne Tarlant.

Benoit will host a Winemaker's Evening in the private dining room on the 23rd November. Guests will be treated to a unique insight into the art of assemblage, as well as a little about the history and philosophy of Tarlant itself. All this will take place alongside a fantastic four-course dinner, with all courses paired with Benoit's wines.

Enjoy chef Tom Hunter's take on local, seasonal food, with great Champagnes to compliment every mouthful. There is  limited space available and booking is essential (£80pp or £37.50 if staying in the hotel on Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. Call 01637 861800 for more information and to book).

The hotel choose this house Champagne as a result of tastings at two natural wine fairs in London earlier this year. Meeche Hudd, Food and Beverage Manager, explained that as well as a top quality Champagne, she was also looking for something which reflected the hotel's pioneering spirit. Tarlant immediately struck a chord.

The Tarlant philosophy goes something like this: “We feel that it is particularly important that our wines reveal the diversity of the sub-soil, the vineyards and the blends of our estate. Each parcel lays claim to its own identity and we listen to that complexity and do all we can to let it sing in the wine we make from it.” The health of the soil is a priority and farming is designed to build sustainability and biodiversity, nurturing the micro-organisms which share the soil with the vines.
