Marlborough

Wine from Marlborough is distinctive. With intense aromas and concentrated flavours, the fine, ripe fruit is balanced by perfect acidity and refined production techniques lead to sophisticated and stylish wines. The Marlborough wine region is in the north-eastern corner of New Zealand's South Island. An alluvial plain stretches between the Pacific Ocean and rises from valleys, where northerly aspects are the most sought-after, to mountains which offer shelter to the vineyards below. Sauvignon Blanc in exuberant style is Marlborough's most famous creation, but also look out for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
