Picpoul de Pinet Chateau de la Mirande, prickly, fresh, easy drinking white wine, ideal for shellfish and lighter foods. This delicious little wine from Chateau de la Mirande is lovely easy drinking as aperitif, dry, crispy with good body and persistence. Picpoul de Pinet Mirande has a spicy aniseed bouquet, green fruits and herbs, is quite resinous with an ample mouth feel with savoury flavours of iodine, yellow plum and pepper; also a sharp prickle. Picpoul is an ancient grape variety which has the sort of green tinged fruit and crisp acidity one would associate with Muscadet, but with more vinosity. Grapes are harvested at night, pneumatic pressure, and must settling. Temperature controlled fermentation (14-16C) for 20-25 days in concrete tank. Traditionally drunk with the famous 'huitres de Bouzygues', (oysters) that are harvested from the adjacent Etang de Thau. Also shellfish platter, lobster, crayfish and grilled fish go very well.

Very happy with product and the packaging. However when the courier tried to deliver we were out so they left the package on our driveway. Thankfully a kind neighbour took the package in for us.
